There are a lot of attractions in central Florida. This page describes some of the things you may want to do while you are in Daytona. The Personal Favorites tab to the left has restaurant information.
Ponce Inlet Lighthouse
Completed in 1887, the Ponce de Leon Inlet Light Station was built when the area was known as Mosquito Inlet. After decades of restoration by the Ponce de Leon Inlet Lighthouse Preservation Association, it stands today as one of the best preserved, most complete Light Stations in the nation. This is one of my favorite places to take visitors. I have climbed this lighthouse MANY times!
Marine Science Center, Ponce Inlet
A very interesting non-profit educational opportunity near the Lighthouse.

Marine Discovery Center, New Smyrna Beach
Another non-pofit educational opportunity. My special friend, Lisa, and I enjoyed a 2 hour Dolphin Discovery Tour on their pontoon boat in the intracoastal waterway. The building where their ticket office is located has interesting displays. Check ahead for dates and tour times because they do not offer the same tours every day.

Kennedy Space Center
Just 45 minutes from popular Orlando attractions and theme parks is NASA’s launch headquarters – the only place on Earth where you can tour launch areas, meet an Astronaut, see giant rockets, train in spaceflight simulators, and even view a launch.

Sea World Orlando and Discovery Cove
Home of the world famous Shamu. Many marine animals to see. Lots of wild roller coasters. Discovery Cove is across the street from SeaWorld and offers an opportunity to swim with the dolphins and spend a relaxing day. I really enjoyed my day there nearly 20 years ago with my best friend from college and her twin granddaughters who are now 22!!
Shopping - Daytona Flea & Farmers Market
A great place to look for that perfect deal.

Shopping - Volusia Mall
Volusia Mall has over 125 stores, services and eateries, making this mall a true shopping experience. Volusia Mall is located off at 1700 W. Int'l Speedway Blvd across from the Daytona Int'l Speedway.
Shopping - New Smyrna Beach
New Smyrna Beach has interesting little shops, restaurants and bars on Flagler Avenue (beachside) and Canal Street (on the mainland). An interesting place to spend an afternoon. They offer many "special events". The website below is for the New Smyrna Beach Visitors Bureau and has lots of good information.

New Smyrna Beach Little Theatre
This is an all-volunteer community theater. Every seat is a good seat in the 270 seat theater. They offer several productions a year. Check their website to see if one is available during your visit. The best way to get tickets is to call between 1 and 4 PM on Monday through Friday.

St. Augustine
St. Augustine, the nation's oldest city, also holds the distinction of being one of the nation's most charming. Known as the "Ancient City," Saint Augustine is located about 58 miles north of the condo. I recommend the scenic drive up A1A. It takes just over 1 1/2 hours. Castillo de San Marcos, the old fort, is very interesting to visit. If anyone in your party is 62+, your National Parks & Federal Recreational Lands Pass gets free admission for you and up to 3 guests. You can purchase the pass here and use it immediately StAugustineLighthouse.com gives information on the lighthouse there which is also fun to climb. Along the way on A1A, you pass Marineland. It is an interesting smaller, fairly inexpensive, dolphin park that you can obtain information about at Marineland.net If you want to swim with the dolphins, I highly recommend Discovery Cove across from SeaWorld in Orlando instead.
Sunglow Pier
Home of Crabby Joe's Deck and Grill, gift shop, and fishing. It just happens to be right next to Sunglow Resort! If you catch fish while fishing on the pier (or elsewhere) and clean them, Crabby Joe's will cook them for your dinner for $3.99 plus the cost of sides!
